ACCREDITATION TYPES & ELIGIBILITY

Accreditation Types & Eligibility

Who Can Apply to Become an ICAIC-Accredited Training Provider (ICAIC-ATP™)

Not everyone realizes they may already qualify. This page makes it clear, simple, and accessible. The International Council for AI Certification (ICAIC) accredits a wide range of training organizations, not just schools.

If you provide AI education, coaching, consulting, or professional development, you may be eligible to apply.  ICAIC-Accredited Training Providers represent a global network of approved institutions delivering responsible, ethical, and standards-aligned AI training across multiple industries.

ICAIC accreditation is structured to ensure clarity, accountability, and global credibility. Organizations, individual trainers, and programs are evaluated separately, each under its own criteria and scope of review. Accreditation at one level does not replace or override another.

Organizational Accreditation (Training Provider - ATP)

An organization or institution uses Training Provider Accreditation (ATP) to demonstrate governance readiness, operational legitimacy, and commitment to ethical and compliant AI education. This accreditation strengthens institutional trust, supports procurement and partnership decisions, and signals to stakeholders that training activities are delivered under recognized global standards. Organizational ATP accreditation evaluates the entity itself, not individual courses or events.

Individual Trainer Accreditation (Trainer - ATP)

An AI ethics speaker, trainer, or consultant uses Trainer Accreditation (ATP) to validate professional credibility, increase booking confidence, and justify premium speaking, consulting, and training fees. Trainer ATP accreditation confirms that the individual operates in alignment with ICAIC ethical, compliance, and professional conduct standards. Trainer ATP accreditation evaluates the individual, not the programs they deliver.

Program, Activity, Event & Learning Experience Accreditation

Programs, courses, events, conferences, workshops, and seminars use ICAIC Program Accreditation to demonstrate instructional quality, ethical AI alignment, and compliance with recognized standards. This accreditation provides assurance to learners, sponsors, partners, and institutions that the content delivered has been professionally reviewed and responsibly vetted. Program accreditation evaluates the content and delivery, not the organization or individual alone.

Speaker Accreditation

Applies to individual educators and facilitators who deliver AI-related education. ICAIC reviews professional background, instructional competency, topic scope, teaching methods, ethical standing, and transparency regarding AI-generated content in speaking materials.  Approved speakers receive the ICAIC Speaker Accreditation Seal and a verified public speaker profile.

Accreditation Hierarchy

  1. Organizational ATP → accredits the organization

  2. Trainer ATP → accredits the individual professional

  3. Program / Training & Activity Accreditation → accredits each course, event, or program

Mandatory Accreditation Order

To maintain governance integrity and accountability:

Organizational ATP or Trainer ATP accreditation is mandatory before any program, course, event, conference, or seminar may be submitted for ICAIC Program Accreditation.  Programs are accredited individually, even when delivered by an ICAIC-accredited organization or trainer. Accreditation at the provider or trainer level does not automatically accredit programs.

This structure ensures that who is delivering the training and what is being delivered are both evaluated independently and responsibly.
